freelance front-end web developer/designer

We are looking for an experienced front-end developer with proven design and coding skills to join our Hendersonville, Tennessee based firm.  This is a contract or freelance position.  Seize this exciting opportunity to be a part of a growing marketing and design firm.  Candidates should demonstrate a strong focus in business-to-business web development with at least three years of web production experience.  Expect to be an immediate contributor while further developing your web skills.  A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Graphic Design or New Media Design is much preferred.

front-end web developer/designer candidates would:

  • Exhibit a solid understanding of design fundamentals including color theory, typography, composition, photo retouching and branding skills
  • Be proficient in Dreamweaver (or equivalent) and Adobe Photoshop
  • Have experience in structured team-coordinated web development
  • Also have a strong working knowledge in the following programs: Adobe Illustrator, MS Office and Macromedia Studio
  • Have a fundamental understanding of lean semantic HTML and basic Standards-Based web coding principles which includes separation of content, presentation and behavior
  • Exhibit a firm understanding of working CSS plus considerable experience in building CSS layouts that work well across multiple browsers
  • Have a working knowledge of Flash plus a firm grasp on when it's use is appropriate (and not) for web projects
  • At least have a beginner-level working knowledge of JavaScript
  • Be independent, proactive and able to perform under very tight schedules
  • Work well with design direction and be comfortable within a team environment
  • Demonstrate attention to detail, a solution-oriented attitude and be a great team player
  • Thrive in a highly collaborative, agile, fast-paced and exciting work environment
